For the launch of Universal’s Epic Universe, Edinburgh Castle became the backdrop for a large-scale projection, bringing imagery from the new theme park to one of Scotland’s best-known landmarks.

We were there to capture the evening from different perspectives. Max photographed the event and guests inside the Castle, while Andy worked across ground and aerial filming and photography to document the projection and its setting within the city.

With a live event, night-time conditions and a historic city-centre location, there was plenty to work around. The result was a varied collection of material covering the people and atmosphere inside the event, the projection itself, and wider views showing its scale against Edinburgh Castle.
